About Us

Introduction

Nutrition Counseling Center, initiated by Department of Nutritional Sciences at Govt. College Women University Faisalabad, offers medical nutrition therapy to promote wellness, prevention and management of diseases. The dietitians/nutritionist at Nutrition Counseling center offer individualized nutrition counseling sessions that are personalized to address each client’s specific needs to optimize health and well-being.

Vision

The Nutrition Counseling Center will strive to provide services through discovery of the ways in which foods and their bioactive components contribute to health and the prevention of disease and through effective application of nutrition knowledge to improve human health and well-being.

Mission

The Nutrition Counseling Center GCWUF will offer high quality nutrition services by meeting the needs and expectations of clients, and providing health promotion in the community. The multidisciplinary team will apply their expertise to achieve the goals. Furthermore, it will play a prominent role in research and education and also will be income generating program for the University.

The Nutrition Counseling center will provide the following services:
Services will include nutritional assessment, diet planning, nutrition counseling & education for the following concerns:

• Diabetes
• Obesity
• Weight Gain
• Hypertension
• Cardiovascular diseases
• Anemia
• Gastrointestinal disorders
• Cancers
• Arthritis

• Practices of Nutrition Counseling Center

• Nutritional Assessment (Anthropometric measurements, Biochemical Analysis, Clinical Assessment, Dietary History)

• Diet Planning

• Nutrition Counseling

• Community Awareness Programs

Faculty and students will present the findings and experiences at National and International conferences, workshops and seminars. Nutrition Camps will be organized time to time for creating awareness and health promotion.

• Nutrition Counseling Center Consultancy Fee

Services will be provided at a minimal cost of Rs. 300 for GCWUF members & Rs. 500 for outsiders per visit/consultancy.

• Training and Education of Students

• This service aims to provide faculty and students with the opportunity to gain hands-on training under skill development program.

• This includes formal training of students in hospital diets and nutritional assessment, as well as teaching residents in family medicine about nutrition counseling during their community rotation.
